German WWII Telephone Bunkers
(at the Belgian coast)
All pictures (c) 2011 T.Cools except for pictures mentioned.

Updated April 28 2011, March 20 2015, April 8 2018

Here is a collection of pictures I took about German WWII Telephone Relais bunkers.
The Germans called it Kabelschaltstellen and Kabelschaltbrunnen.

Different types were made.  They were mostly built away from any strongpoint or resistence point.

I have decided for certain KSS and KB not to give their location free.
These will be marked as 'Unknown Location'.

a) Kabelschaltstellen(KSS)

Raversijde

KSS at  Raversijde, Stp Tirpitz Type C(probably).
This one is not accessible and on private property.

Here's another one, number '512', still existing.

Unknown location; somewhere at the Belgian coast

The A.W.B. found this one only recently during February - March 2015 somewhere alongside the Belgian coast.
It is the same type of the KSS at the Military Barracks at Lombardsijde.
Only one picture inside the bunker.  Don't ask !  No location will be given.

Ramskapelle(Knokke)

_

Well known KSS at Ramskapelle.

_

Entrance and part of cable box.

Knokke(Zwin)

_

__

Close to the entrance at the nature reservate 'Zwin' is a KSS.  A number could not be found.

Lombardsijde(military barracks)

I found this one on June 11 2005 by coïncidence.  No measurements but probably 7m x 4.60m with 0.80cm thick walls.  Interiour should be 3m x 5.40m.

Klemskerke, Wn Fuchs

This strange built KSS can be found at Klemskerke, it was part of  Wn Fuchs.

KSS variant with an enrance on the roof.

This one has its entrance on the roof.

Number 504.

Bredene

This KSS has been demolished somewhere late 2010.

b)Kabel(schalt)brunnen(KB)

Unknown location; somewhere at the Belgian coast

Below: Plan of KB.

Here's one I discovered some time ago.

Some are largely burried under ground and others not.  This one is.

Lissewege-Zwankendamme border: location now revealed.

I've kept this place secret for a long time, but now it is visible for everyone who is biking along the Boudewijncanal to Zeebrugge.
The pictures below are from 2004 when it could not be seen and was hidden inside a big dense forrest.

_

Here's one which isn't burried but above the ground.  It carries number '215'.

The pictures below has been taken on August 20 2011: The place has been cleaned up.
